Why is my site blank?

It is almost never your design — it is how the ZIP is packed. Drop it below and we will tell you what is wrong in plain English, and exactly what to change. Nothing is uploaded, and you do not need to know how to code.

  • Nothing uploaded
  • Read in your browser
  • No account, no ads

The 5 things that usually go wrong

Most common first. You do not need to read these — the checker above finds them for you — but here is what it is looking for.

  1. The homepage file has the wrong name

A website needs one file named exactly index.html. It is the page people see first, and a host will not go looking for anything else.

Fix: Rename your main page to index.html — all lowercase.

  2. Everything is hidden inside a folder

The most common one by far. You zipped the folder itself instead of the things inside it, so your site ends up one level too deep for the host to find.

Fix: Open the folder, select the files inside, and zip those. (We handle this one for you — Netlify and Vercel do not.)

  3. The site was never finished being built

If your AI made a React, Vue or Vite app, the files it wrote are ingredients, not the finished meal. A browser cannot read them. You will see a folder called src and a file called package.json.

Fix: Run npm run build, then zip what appears in the new dist or build folder.

  4. Capital letters do not match

Your computer thinks Style.css and style.css are the same file. A web server does not. The page loads with no design at all, which looks blank.

Fix: Make the file name and the name inside your code match letter for letter.

  5. Some pieces are missing from the ZIP

Your page asks for a design file or a script that is not in the ZIP. If the missing piece is an important one, nothing appears.

Fix: Add the missing files, or fix the names your page is asking for.

Questions

Why is my website blank after I upload it?
Nine times out of ten your files are fine and the ZIP is not. Either there is no file named index.html at the very top of the ZIP, or your whole site is tucked inside a folder so the host looks in the wrong place, or the site was never finished being built. A host can only show what it finds at the top.
Why is my page blank on Netlify Drop or Vercel?
Same reasons. Those sites tell you the upload worked — because it did — so nothing looks wrong, and then the link is white. It was never the upload. It was how the ZIP is arranged, and that is what this checks.
Should I upload src or dist?
dist. If you see a folder called src and a file called package.json in your ZIP, your site has not been built yet — those are the ingredients, not the finished site. Run npm run build, then zip what appears inside the new dist or build folder.
Do my files get uploaded to GeminiLaunch?
No. Your ZIP is opened on your own computer, inside your browser. Nothing is sent to us, so we never receive it, never store it and never see it. You can turn off your wifi and it still works.
Does it work for a ZIP from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?
Yes, and that is who it is mainly for. AI tools very often hand you a ZIP with an extra folder wrapped around it, or with the unfinished version of the site inside — which is exactly what this looks for.
Do I need to know how to code to use this?
No. Drop your ZIP in and it tells you in plain words what is wrong and what to change. You do not need to install anything or open any code.
Is it really free, and do I need an account?
Free, with no account and no email. If you then want your site online, the GeminiLaunch free plan gives you three live sites with no card.

Once it checks out, publish it free

Same ZIP, a real HTTPS address, no Git and no build config. Three live sites on the free plan, no card.
